Elon Musk Turns Heads With Election Response

Elon Musk responded to the Republican midterm losses with a pair of brief posts on X.

“Guess my election-interfering space lasers didn’t work this time,” he wrote, accompanied by a shrug emoji.

The remark referenced longstanding conspiracy claims that his Starlink satellite network had interfered with prior election results.

No credible evidence has supported those allegations from leftists.

Musk followed with a second message: “Data centers in space looking pretty appealing right now.”

The comment followed the defeat of Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott by Democrat Gina Hinojosa.

Hinojosa has called for an immediate moratorium on new data center construction in the state.

Musk has moved significant Tesla, SpaceX, and X operations to Texas.

He spent an estimated $474 million supporting Republican candidates and causes during the 2026 cycle, the largest individual political expenditure in modern U.S. history.

Despite the heavy spending, several high-profile candidates he backed lost, including Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the Senate race against Democrat James Talarico.

At least 18 lower-profile candidates supported by Musk still won their races, according to Forbes.

Shares of Tesla and SpaceX declined roughly 6 percent in premarket trading as investors assessed the implications of Democratic control of Congress and the Texas results.

Musk deleted an Election Day post that had urged followers to “vote red today.”

His estimated net worth remained near $898 billion after the election, according to reporting by The New York Times.

The posts stood out for their light tone after a night of substantial Republican losses in both chambers of Congress.

Democrats are expected to increase oversight of technology companies and artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The election results leave Musk’s companies facing a different regulatory environment in Washington for the final two years of Trump’s term.
