San Francisco 49ers Owner Arrested — Police Body Cam Released

San Francisco 49ers owner and CEO Jed York was arrested in East Palestine, Ohio, over allegations involving prostitution. He allegedly responded to an undercover prostitution ad, according to authorities.

York, 46, was booked into the Columbiana County Jail. The prostitution count has been amended to disorderly conduct. He has pleaded no contest. He was also convicted of “possessing criminal tools,” relating to the phone used to arrange the alleged encounter.

A judge sentenced him to one day in jail on each count, to run at the same time. He paid a $150 fine for disorderly conduct and $1,000 for possessing criminal tools.

A police report cited by local station WKBN said East Palestine officers “assisted the MVHTTF on the arrest of John York” on August 23, 2026. York is a Youngstown-area native.

The 49ers named him CEO in 2008. He and his wife, Danielle Belluomini, have two sons. In a separate matter, he was previously sued over alleged insider trading tied to his seat on the board of Chegg.

Prostitution stings often end in reduced charges. That is what happened here. The remaining public record is an arrest, a plea, a one-day sentence, and fines.

NFL ownership already lives under a league conduct policy. York’s office has not, in the initial reports, offered a long public explanation. The court file is short. The mugshot-and-plea cycle is not.

Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed this week that the NFL is reviewing York under its Personal Conduct Policy. That matters because the policy specifically says owners and senior club management can be held to a higher standard than other league personnel. No punishment has been announced as of today.
