Conservative Smokeshow of the Day

After graduating, I moved to Nashville and accepted a full-time position as a social media coordinator for a boutique marketing company. I worked with restaurants, clothing boutiques, beauty businesses, and several regional hospitality brands. My days were filled with planning content calendars, scheduling photo shoots, meeting clients, analyzing engagement numbers, and figuring out why certain posts performed better than others. I quickly discovered that I enjoyed the business side of social media just as much as the creative side.
About two years into my career, I decided to start building a personal online presence. I'd always posted pictures of outfits, makeup looks, trips, and everyday life, but I wanted something that felt a little more intentional. That's when I started using the nickname Southern Barbie. It began as a joke among my girlfriends because I was the one who always showed up with curled blonde hair, a pink outfit, and a purse full of lip gloss. Eventually, I decided the nickname actually described my personality pretty well, so I embraced it.
