WNBA Star Erupts on Enes Kanter Freedom Over Trans Debate

Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink unloaded on Enes Kanter Freedom after he pushed the WNBA on who counts as a woman.

Brink called the transgender-athlete debate a “non-issue” and an attack on the trans community. “For me personally, I think when it comes to the trans issues that I believe you’re talking about, I think it’s a non-issue and I think it’s people trying to just come for the trans community and I just don’t stand for that.”

Then she named him. “I don’t even know what the f*** his name is — Enes Kanter — he’s a stupid piece of s***. And I think a lot of people think that, and he’s just trying to stay relevant.”

She accused him of using a “vulnerable community” for “clickbait, views, and likes.”

Freedom has declared for the 2027 WNBA draft, citing a collective-bargaining gap: the league limits play to women but does not define woman biologically or require sex verification. Critics call that a stunt. He calls it a test of the rulebook.

At a Chicago Sky–Indiana Fever game he wore a shirt reading “WOMAN noun. adult human female.” He was ejected after a confrontation with Sky guard Natasha Cloud. Sky owner Michael Alter banned him from the arena indefinitely.

Freedom’s reply was short. “I am not anti-trans, I’m not anti-LGBTQ, I’m just pro-woman.” Phoenix Mercury coach Nate Tibbetts declined to referee the fight. “Yeah, I’m going to leave that to the league office. That’s their job.”
