Leavitt's political career began years before she became a nationally recognized spokesperson. A native of New Hampshire, she graduated from Saint Anselm College in 2019 with a degree in politics and communication, having already developed an interest in Republican politics, political messaging, and the relationship between government officials and the news media.
During her college years, she completed an internship with Fox News, gaining exposure to the television news industry before eventually working in the Trump administration. That early experience helped introduce her to the fast-moving environment of political communications, where government decisions and media coverage frequently intersect.
