Trump Vows Iran Will Pay ‘Many Times Over’ After Identification of Fallen Soldiers

The Pentagon identified two U.S. Army soldiers killed in an Iranian attack on a base in Jordan as President Trump issued a direct warning that every American death would be met with overwhelming response.

1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, died at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base. A third service member’s remains were still being identified, and another soldier died during a controlled detonation in Iraq.

“Every time Iran kills an American Soldier they will pay for that killing many times over!” Trump posted. He said the directive had been passed to senior military leaders.

Feehan was assigned to an air defense unit at Fort Bragg and will receive the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and a posthumous promotion. Gonzales served with an air defense unit based in Germany. War Secretary Pete Hegseth wrote, “Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve.”

The deaths brought the number of U.S. service members killed since hostilities resumed to 17, with more than 420 wounded. Trump said American forces had already “hit them very hard again” in response.

The administration continued a campaign of strikes aimed at Iranian military targets after the collapse of a previous ceasefire agreement.
