Ilhan Omar Curses at Reporter Over Brother Marriage Scandal

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., was confronted by a reporter over longstanding allegations involving her past marriage and an ongoing federal investigation.

LindellTV reporter Alison Steinberg approached Omar near her office and questioned her about recent comments from White House border czar Tom Homan.

Homan recently confirmed that the Department of Homeland Security is conducting what he described as an ongoing criminal investigation involving Omar. He declined to disclose specifics or say whether investigators have evidence of immigration or naturalization fraud. ([Fox News][1])

Steinberg first referenced Omar’s previous statements that no one is above the law.

The reporter then directly raised the allegation that Omar previously married her brother.

“Absolutely not. What a ridiculous thing to ask… That’s disgusting,” Omar replied.

When Steinberg pressed further and asked about Homan’s statements, Omar responded sharply.

“He is. He’s been saying some dumb sh** like you,” Omar said.

The controversy centers on Omar’s 2009 legal marriage to British citizen Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. The marriage ended in divorce in 2017. Critics have alleged for years that Elmi was Omar’s brother and that the marriage was connected to immigration fraud.

Omar has repeatedly denied that allegation. Earlier investigations by news organizations were unable to establish that Elmi was her brother, and no public court finding has substantiated the claim. According to Homan, immigration or marriage fraud would be investigated regardless of a person’s political position. His comments did not establish that Omar committed either offense, and no criminal charge was announced in the reports reviewed.
