Boston Police Confirm Gunshot Death at Rental Property Linked to Congresswoman’s Husband

Boston police have confirmed that a body discovered Saturday at a multi-family residence on Malta Street in Mattapan died from a gunshot wound. The property is owned by Conan Harris, husband of U.S. Rep. Ayanna Pressley.

Officers responded around 1:52 p.m. after a call to investigate a person and found the victim deceased inside. The homicide unit assumed control of the case. No arrests have been announced and no suspect has been publicly identified.

Family members identified the victim as 18-year-old Yoseliani Marte through a GoFundMe page and said they believed the death resulted from domestic violence. Police have not confirmed that assessment.

Public records show Harris owns the building, which is currently listed for sale at approximately $1.15 million and has been used as a rental. Both Harris and Pressley’s office stressed they do not live at the property and were not involved in the incident.

A spokesperson for the congresswoman extended “deepest condolences to the impacted family.” Investigators continue to process the scene and seek information from anyone with knowledge of the shooting.

The case remains an active homicide investigation with no further public details released on motive or potential suspects.
