Police Raid Home Tied to Ilhan Omar’s Son

Minneapolis police executed a search warrant at an apartment Alpha News, citing unnamed law-enforcement sources, tied to Rep. Ilhan Omar’s son Adnan. Officers reported seizing firearms and ammunition.

Liz Collin of Alpha News reported that police also arrested the roommate, 22-year-old Abdulrahman Abdi.

The link between the apartment and Omar’s son has not been independently confirmed. Omar and her son have not been accused of wrongdoing.

Earlier that day, police stopped Abdi and cited him for driving without a license or proof of insurance. He was released while the vehicle was impounded. A firearm was allegedly found inside.

Officers later found him on Marquette Avenue and arrested him “without incident,” the department said.

He was booked into Hennepin County Jail on a weapons charge and released Wednesday night, according to jail records cited in the reporting.

Court records reviewed by the Daily Mail list 10 convictions for Abdi, mostly misdemeanors.

In 2024 he pleaded guilty to fleeing police in a motor vehicle after a reported 108 mph run in St. Paul. He received one day in jail and two years of supervised probation.

Other cases since 2022 include cellphone use while driving, excessive speeding, and no proof of insurance. Last year he was convicted of speeding on an already revoked license.

The confirmed arrest in the public record is Abdi’s. The Omar-family connection remains the unconfirmed piece of the Alpha News account.
