Trump Signals Aggressive Stance on Any Iranian Nuclear Activity

President Donald Trump issued a stark warning Tuesday that the United States would strike “any site” where Iran appears to be advancing its nuclear program.

“Any site where they’re even thinking about nuclear, we’ll be hitting it very, very powerfully,” Trump said at the White House. He added that prior operations had inflicted damage that “will take them 20, 25 years to recover from,” while making clear American forces were not withdrawing.

The president also addressed potential threats from Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen. Asked about reports that the group might attempt to block the Red Sea, he replied, “We’ll see what happens. So far, it hasn’t happened. Might happen, but we take care of things. If something like that happens, we take care of it.”

Intelligence reports indicated Iran had instructed the Houthis to prepare to close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait if the United States targeted Iranian power infrastructure. Missiles and drones were reportedly already positioned near the waterway.

Trump emphasized that any interference with shipping would draw a response: “I think that if there is something like that, we’ll just have to take care of business.”

The comments underscored a policy of denying Iran any path to nuclear capability while remaining prepared to counter proxy threats to global trade routes.
