Georgia voters re-elected two Republican-appointed Supreme Court justices on Tuesday, defeating Democratic challengers in nationally watched races.
Justice Sarah Hawkins Warren beat former state Sen. Jen Jordan, and Justice Charlie Bethel defeated attorney Miracle Rankin. Justice Benjamin Land ran unopposed.
The contests drew heavy endorsements from Democrats (Obama and Harris) and Republicans (Gov. Brian Kemp), who warned against politicizing the judiciary.
The incumbents were part of the 2024 majority that reinstated Georgiaβs six-week abortion ban.
