Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s bid for governor ended Tuesday night as he failed to advance from a crowded Republican primary.
Lt. Gov. Burt Jones (Trump-endorsed) and healthcare executive Rick Jackson secured the top two spots and will face off in a June 16 runoff.
Attorney General Chris Carr and Raffensperger were eliminated.
Raffensperger, a vocal critic of Trump’s efforts to challenge the 2020 election results, struggled in a field dominated by Trump-aligned candidates. Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms won her primary and will face the runoff winner in November.
