Karoline Leavitt Breaks Silence on Her Sudden Exit

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has broken her silence after President Donald Trump announced her departure at the end of the month. In a lengthy post on X, the 28-year-old described her time in the role as “the honor and adventure of a lifetime.”

Leavitt thanked Trump for extraordinary opportunities, including “working in the West Wing and spending countless hours in the Oval Office, flying around the world and meeting foreign leaders, and traveling across our beautiful country and meeting Americans from all walks of life.”

She highlighted the “distinct privilege of speaking on his behalf at the White House podium,” where she proudly detailed the administration’s historic accomplishments and worked to ensure Americans heard the truth about Trump’s successes.

The decision stems from family priorities. After welcoming her second child, daughter Viviana, in May and returning to work the following month, Leavitt said the role’s demands conflicted with motherhood. She has a two-year-old son in addition to the newborn.

“The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary — and that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life,” she wrote.

Trump praised her in a Truth Social post as “one of my most trusted aides” and “one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office.” He fully respected her choice to spend more time with her children.

Leavitt confirmed she will continue serving as a top outside advisor to Trump and remain a vocal advocate for MAGA and the Republican Party. No successor has been named yet.
