Hunter Biden Gets Emotional Amid Update on Dad’s Cancer

Hunter Biden offered a rare and emotional public update on his father’s health, revealing that Joe Biden’s cancer has spread further into his bones and beyond.

In a BBC Newsnight interview, Hunter described the toll on the family. “It’s really tough, Paddy. That’s the real answer.” He paused, visibly emotional, as he spoke about the former president.

“My dad is, and to this day remains, the center of our family… He is our rock. He has been there for each one of us… He’s the best father, the best husband, the best grandfather of anyone that I’ve ever read about, heard about, or even seen in a movie.”

On the medical reality, Hunter was direct: “I wish he would complain more because it’s not good. The cancer has spread. It’s metastasized into his bones and further. It’s very painful and it’s very debilitating in many respects, but he’s still out there. He’s still doing this thing. That is, he so believes in this country, and as long as he’s alive, I promise you he’s going to continue to fight.”

Jill Biden has previously said her husband will “forever live with cancer.” Appearances by the former president have been limited and occasionally awkward since he left office in 2025.

Hunter also addressed the controversial pardon he received from his father, conceding it was not good for the Constitution, the American people, or Joe Biden’s legacy. “It’s something that is easily criticized and for good reason. And I can’t pretend otherwise.”

The interview painted a picture of a family grappling with both the physical decline of its central figure and the political controversies that still surround them.
