During Taylor Swift’s concert in Miami, a supporter of Donald Trump attempted to provoke her by displaying a massive “Trump 2024” banner from a plane flying above the venue.
“Trump 2024 – Ready for it, cat lady? MAGA,” the banner read.
The event occurred shortly after Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, referring to herself as a “Childless Cat Lady,” a term previously used derogatorily by Republican senator J.D. Vance.
“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift wrote. “I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz “has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades,” Swift wrote.
Former President Trump condemned Swift’s endorsement, expressing his dislike for her music and politics on social media and predicting backlash for her political engagement.
“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Trump wrote online.
“Well I actually like, uh, Mrs. Mahomes much better if you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan,” Trump said. “I was not actually a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time. You couldn’t possibly endorse Biden.”
Swift has faced ongoing criticism from conservatives and has previously spoken out against Trump, blaming him for exacerbating racial tensions.
“Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life,” X owner Elon Musk wrote.
“After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?” Swift wrote on X. “We will vote you out in November.”
