Biden Claims Trump, Supporters Are Encouraging ‘Extremism’

via Sky News

President Joe Biden released a video calling for Democrats to support his reelection, emphasizing the need to combat “extremism” and restore full abortion protections across all states following the overturning of Roe v. Wade two years ago.

Biden criticized Trump’s influence on the Supreme Court justices who played a role in this decision and warned of potential nationwide abortion bans.

“Two years ago, the Supreme Court justices that Trump handpicked helped overturn Roe v. Wade,” Biden said. “Decades of progress shattered just because the last guy got four years in the White House. We know what will happen if he gets another four.”

“We’re up against extremism,” Biden said. “Send me back to the White House and I’ll fight like hell to restore Roe v. Wade and protect American freedom.”

The Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health ruling, facilitated by conservative justices, marked a significant shift, leading to a renewed focus on abortion rights by Democrats.

“Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences. And far from bringing about a national settlement of the abortion issue, Roe and Casey have enflamed debate and deepened division,” Justice Samuel Alito said. “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”

“So for 52 years, people have been wanting to end Roe v. Wade to get it back to the states. We did that. It was an incredible achievement,” Trump said in 2024. “And now the states have it, and the states are putting out what they want. It’s the will of the people. So Florida is probably going to change; Arizona is definitely going to change. Everybody wants that to happen.”
