Trump Drops Bombshell on Sharia Law

President Trump told Glenn Beck on Wednesday he would “absolutely” back a ban on Sharia law in the United States and insisted the country keep one legal system.

Beck asked whether he would push or sign legislation to bar it.

“Number one, on Sharia law, I would absolutely say that’s not this country. There’s no Sharia law. And you do have pockets of it, as you know,” Trump said.

He pointed to Europe: “And you go to London, you go to Paris. It’s almost like a second way of life. It’s ridiculous.”

He framed it as common sense, not ideology: “Good politics is all about common sense anyway.”

His clearest line: “But I would absolutely prohibit the Sharia law thing. And it is happening in this country a little bit. And when we see it, we take it out. And you have to take it out.”

“You have one system. We have a great system. Sometimes it’s very frustrating. But it’s the best there is that I can see.”

Federal and state law already control in the United States. Voluntary religious practice is protected so long as it does not override civil law.

The issue is also live in Michigan’s Senate race. Democrat Abdul El-Sayed faces Republican Mike Rogers. Vice President JD Vance criticized El-Sayed over 2022 remarks opposing efforts to keep courts from considering Sharia. El-Sayed’s campaign says personal religious practice is not a plan to impose religious law through government.
