President Donald Trump has thrown his full support behind Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the Republican U.S. Senate runoff, praising him as a “loyal America First Patriot” and “MAGA Warrior” who will fight for border security, tax cuts, energy dominance, and the Save America Act.

In a lengthy Truth Social post, Trump criticized incumbent Sen. John Cornyn as “very late” to back his 2024 campaign and too aligned with the Washington establishment.

“Ken Paxton will help me… MAKING AMERICA BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER,” Trump wrote, noting Paxton’s loyalty through tough times.

Paxton, who faces Cornyn in the May 26 runoff, responded: “I am incredibly honored to have President Trump’s COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT.”

He has campaigned on the need for change after Cornyn’s more than 40 years in office.

The winner will face Democrat James Talarico, a progressive state representative, in November.
