Hollywood stars George Clooney and Julia Roberts, at a Los Angeles fundraiser for Joe Biden, emphasized the importance of democracy and the future, cautioning against the potential risks of a Trump re-election.

The event, which raised $30 million for Biden’s campaign, featured celebrity endorsements aligned with Democrat messaging aimed at urging support for Biden.

“Just the future, our children’s future, our grandchildren’s future,” Roberts was reported to have said. “That’s all that’s at stake right now. Just that.”

Other celebrities like Barbra Streisand echoed similar sentiments, stressing the significance of democracy and supporting Biden’s transformative initiatives.

“Democracy is under assault,” Barbra Streisand said.

“But thank goodness an experienced Democrat who has passed transformative domestic legislation is in the White House,” she said.

“I think part of what has happened over the last several years is we’ve normalized behavior that used to be disqualifying,” Obama said. “We had the spectacle of the nominee of one of the two major parties, sitting in court and being convicted by a jury of his peers on 34 counts.”

Despite the fundraising success, there has been a notable decrease in celebrity support for Biden in this election cycle, with concerns about associating with the less popular Biden and its effect on their public image, particularly among progressive voters.
