New reporting on Presley Gerber’s death has focused on where he was found and how quickly the end came after he checked himself into a recovery home. The Daily Beast, citing TMZ, said the 27-year-old was discovered near a bed in a bedroom at Resolutions Living in Santa Monica, not necessarily on the bed itself.

Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, entered the facility on Saturday. He was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, about 12 hours later. A 911 dispatch obtained earlier by Page Six referenced cardiac arrest and a possible overdose.

Sources told TMZ he appeared to be under the influence when he arrived. Fentanyl has not been named in the investigation so far. Police have said they do not suspect foul play. An autopsy is complete. The official cause of death is still pending.

A source told Page Six he went in because he “had not been doing well” and “knew he needed help.” The same account described a long struggle with self-esteem. “He’s always suffered from a huge lack of self-esteem and had trouble accepting his real self and feeling fully confident in who he was as a person.”

Another source said, “He wanted so, so badly to be free of his addictions.” Friends and family had been posting encouragement in the months before his death. Crawford called him a “warrior” on Instagram. He answered, “love you mama!!!”

Rande wrote that facing hard things “takes real strength.” Sister Kaia Gerber told Vogue that her brother’s openness had changed the family’s old habit of privacy. George Clooney, a close family friend, had sent notes urging him to stay sober, according to later accounts.

The luxury recovery setting has drawn its own scrutiny in follow-up stories about how the house was run. Those details have not changed the core timeline: a self-admission on Saturday, a death call on Sunday.
