Pentagon Drops New UFO Files Featuring Mysterious Swarm Of 1952 Orbs

The Pentagon has released another collection of government records involving unidentified anomalous phenomena, including decades-old footage of mysterious objects seen over Utah.

The September 18 release is the sixth batch published through the government’s PURSUE disclosure program. It includes 71 files spanning historical cases and more recent military encounters.

Among the most notable records is film captured near Tremonton, Utah, on July 2, 1952. Navy warrant officer and photographer Delbert C. Newhouse recorded a group of bright objects moving through the sky.

Newhouse reportedly observed roughly 12 to 14 reflective objects traveling together in a loose formation. He captured the scene on 16mm color film using a handheld Bell & Howell camera.

Air Force investigators later examined the footage as part of Project Blue Book, the military’s long-running effort to investigate reports of unidentified flying objects.

Investigators considered several possible explanations for the objects, including balloons, birds and atmospheric effects. Determining their actual size, speed and distance proved difficult because the footage lacked clear reference points.

During a December 1952 review, some experts concluded the objects resembled so-called pillow balloons used during the Cold War. However, at least one specialist reportedly questioned that explanation because of the objects’ brightness and apparent speed.

Later examinations suggested seabirds reflecting sunlight could have produced a similar appearance on film. Despite those theories, investigators never established a definitive explanation for the Tremonton footage.

The newly released material also includes much more recent incidents. One 2025 military report described six small spherical objects that repeatedly changed direction and were estimated to be traveling at roughly 480 miles per hour.

Other records contain infrared footage from the Yellow Sea and East China Sea in 2023, along with cellphone recordings from Colorado law enforcement showing a silent object or phenomenon displaying red, blue and green lights.

The Pentagon withheld some information to protect witnesses, government facilities and sensitive military locations. Officials have said those redactions were not intended to conceal conclusions about the nature of the reported encounters.

The broader disclosure effort is part of the Trump administration’s push to release additional UAP-related government records through PURSUE. The Pentagon says additional material will continue to be made available as records are reviewed and cleared for release.
