Trump Hints at Fox News Star For Press Secretary

The fashion conversation surrounding first ladies is rarely limited to clothing alone. At major international events, colors, designers and silhouettes are frequently scrutinized for possible diplomatic symbolism, even when no explicit meaning has been confirmed.

Trump’s recent appearances demonstrate why that attention persists. Whether wearing a gray suit to a memorial ceremony or brocade trousers at a state dinner, she has continued to treat clothing as a highly visible component of her role on the world stage.

With every major diplomatic appearance bringing another round of photographs and international coverage, Melania Trump’s wardrobe is likely to remain one of the most closely watched elements of the first lady’s public presence.

She was born in Slovenia. Melania Trump was born on April 26, 1970, in what was then Yugoslavia and is now Slovenia. She is only the second U.S. First Lady born outside the United States. The other was Louisa Adams, wife of John Quincy Adams.

She launched her own jewelry line. In 2010, she introduced the Melania Trump Timepieces and Jewelry collection. Her signature First Lady initiative was “BE BEST.” Launched in 2018, the program focused largely on children's well-being, online behavior, and issues affecting young people.

She is the only First Lady who became a naturalized U.S. citizen. She moved to New York in 1996 and became an American citizen in 2006. She had an international modeling career before entering the White House. She worked on advertising campaigns and with prominent fashion photographers before moving to the United States.
