Rick Ross Arrested in Miami — New Details Surface

Rapper Rick Ross was arrested October 1, 2026, in Miami Beach on felony battery by strangulation and misdemeanor battery after a woman told police he struck her and restricted her breathing.
Ross, whose legal name is William Leonard Roberts, surrendered early that morning and was booked, the Miami Beach Police Department said. The report was made September 29. The alleged incident was August 28 at a residence on Star Island.
The woman, who was not named, told police she and Ross had been in a relationship for the past year and lived together. She said he accused her of lying, then “struck her multiple times during an altercation and restricted her breathing by twisting the collar of her hoodie.” She gave police photos of her injuries.
In court the same day his attorney entered a not-guilty plea. The judge ordered him to stay away from the accuser and set bond at $5,000.
Leaving jail, Ross told reporters, “I am totally innocent of these fabricated allegations made against me.”
His lawyers, Bradley Horenstein and Steve Sadow, said he is “being wrongfully accused by an ex-girlfriend whose true motivations are unclear.” They noted she “did not even file a police report until a month after the claimed incident allegedly took place,” and asked fans not to prejudge the case.
