Jimmy Kimmel Crushed For His Vulgar Attack on Katie Zacharia

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel criticized White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia during successive monologues on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” after her first briefing.
Kimmel referred to her as “Malibu Katie” and suggested she had been appointed to keep President Donald Trump “awake and interested.” He described her as one of a “rotation” of “fawning blonde dolt[s].”
During the monologue, Kimmel said, “I want to introduce you to the new kid in Trump land. It was the first day of kindergarten for the new White House press secretary, Katie Zacharia.” He added that “every six months they bring in a new fawning blonde dolt to add to the rotation.”
He continued, “Things did not get off to a great start for Malibu Katie today,” and later stated, “Her first briefing was brief. It was only 14 minutes long. But even in that short time, she accomplished exactly what she was brought in to do, which is slobber a whole tube of lip gloss all over the president’s behind.”
Before the briefing, Kimmel displayed a gym selfie of Zacharia in workout gear and remarked, “This is the new press secretary, former Newsmax commentator Katie Zacharia, seen here, thinking.” He said her qualifications consisted of having “blonde hair” and being able to “do a thumbs up.”
The White House responded through statements provided to Fox News Digital. Spokesman Davis Ingle said, “Jimmy Kimmel is a no-talent loser who has beclowned himself with tanking ratings and by spewing disgusting lies to his dwindling audience.”
Ingle added, “He is so devoid of actual talent that nobody with any common sense would ever watch him unless it was to laugh at his miserable failures.”
Communications Director Steven Cheung praised Zacharia in a separate statement. He said, “Katie is a fabulous and wonderful addition to the team. She is uniquely qualified and whip-smart to help inform the American people about all the great things President Trump and his administration have been doing, and she will do an incredible job as press secretary.”
Zacharia, 42, was named last week to replace Karoline Leavitt. She graduated from Pepperdine University law school in 2011, briefly served as a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson earlier this year, and has worked as a commentator for Fox News and Newsmax.
President Trump described her as “a loyal and brilliant supporter, right from the beginning.” Zacharia said being selected for the role is “the honor of a lifetime.”
Kimmel’s monologues drew the White House response after the 14-minute briefing. No further on-air remarks from Kimmel addressing the White House statements have been reported.
Zacharia’s background includes prior media and government roles before the appointment. The exchange has focused attention on both the content of the late-night segments and the administration’s direct replies.
Ratings for the program and the size of Kimmel’s audience have been cited by White House officials in their criticism. The statements from Ingle and Cheung were issued in response to the specific monologues rather than prior coverage of the press secretary change.
The briefing itself lasted 14 minutes, as noted by Kimmel, and marked Zacharia’s first appearance in the role. Administration officials have not announced any changes to press access or briefing schedules in connection with the exchange.
