Actor Says He Received Tom Holland’s 7-Figure ‘Avengers’ Check By Mistake

via Peacock

Actor Tom Hollander received a huge bonus check meant for Tom Holland, the “Avengers” actor, due to a mix-up at their shared agency.

Hollander initially mistook the email for his own bonus, only to realize it was meant for Holland, and was a seven-figure sum.

This incident humbled him and changed his perspective. Hollander, known for his work in theater and Hollywood films, including “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Bohemian Rhapsody,” won a BAFTA Award for his role in the BBC series “The Night Manager.”

“People in the accounts department of my agency got confused. We were with the same agency, briefly,” Hollander said.

“I sat smugly in the audience, having just done a BBC show for 30 grand or something, which was going to get me through the next year or so,” he said. “I got an email from the agency saying, ‘Payment advice slip: your first box-office bonus for The Avengers.'”

“And I thought, ‘I don’t think I’m in The Avengers.’ It was an astonishing amount of money,” he said.

“It was not his salary; it was his first box-office bonus. Not the whole box office, the first one,” Hollander said. “It was more money than I’ve ever… It was a 7-figure sum. He was 20 or something.”

“So my feeling of smugness disappeared very quickly. But that’s showbiz,” Hollander joked.

Meanwhile, Tom Holland, known for his role as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has achieved international fame for his work in several superhero films, with some grossing over $1 billion at the global box office.
