New York Republicans, including U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik and state Sen. Mark Walczyk, are attributing Remington Arms’ decision to close its historic Ilion, New York, factory to the state’s gun control regulations.
Remington’s memo to employees confirmed the closure by March 4, 2024. Stefanik criticized the state’s “unconstitutional gun-grab policies,” calling on Governor Kathy Hochul to halt the assault on the Second Amendment.
Walczyk also blamed the closure on New York’s stringent gun control laws, particularly the Gun Industry Liability Law signed by former Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2021. (Trending: Tucker Carlson Reveals ‘Secret’ Project He’s Been Working On For Months)
Remington Arms plans to open a new facility in Georgia and continue firearm production at its Huntsville, Alabama, factory.
