GCU has been accused of violating federal disclosure laws, but the motivation behind the fine appears to be punitive rather than evidence-based.
The government alleged that the university violated federal disclosure laws by insufficiently disclosing to PhD students that they may have to take continuing courses while completing their doctoral dissertations.
The Goldwater Institute has sought transparency on the matter and intends to sue for disclosure if necessary.
