Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is urging countries to cut off the flow of food and oil to Israel in response to its military actions against Hamas in Gaza.
Khamenei praised Hamas for its recent attack on southern Israel and called for an immediate halt to Israeli crimes.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian also called for an oil embargo on Israel and the expulsion of Israeli ambassadors from Islamic Cooperation nations.
Khamenei said, “What the Islamic governments should insist is an immediate halt to the crimes [the Israelis] are committing in Gaza. The bombardments should immediately stop.”
The Iranian official pushed further, and suggested that “They should block the flow of oil and food to the Zionist regime. Islamic governments shouldn’t have economic cooperation with the Zionist regime.”
He also warned that ongoing bombing of Gaza would “unleash a much heavier torrent of anger.”
OPEC has no plans to impose an embargo. Iran reportedly helped Hamas plan its attack on Israel, according to senior members of Hamas and Hezbollah.
An Iran-backed Yemeni Shiite jihadist terror group called Ansar Alla, but recognized by most as Houthis, has publicly claimed to be responsible for a “large number of ballistic and cruise missiles” launched at Israel.
The Houthis have officially “declared war” on Israel in support of Hamas, as reported by an Iranian news outlet.

“We launched a large number of ballistic and cruise missiles and a large number of drones at various targets of the Zionist enemy in the Palestine Occupied Territories,” the group claimed. “We emphasize that this operation is the third operation in support of our oppressed brothers in Palestine.”
“The position of our Yemeni people towards the cause of Palestine is fixed and principled, and the Palestinian people have the full right to defend themselves and use their full rights,” they added. “Our forces performed their duty in supporting Gaza and fired ballistic and cruise missiles at enemy targets in the Occupied Territories.”

“If the Americans directly intervened militarily, we would be ready to participate (against Israel), with missile and drone strikes and other military options,” Houthi’s Abdul Malik al-Houthi said.
