Gaza Refugees Get Bad News

via Bloomberg Television

King Abdullah II of Jordan stated that neither Jordan nor Egypt would accept refugees fleeing the Gaza Strip after Hamas attacks on Israel.

Critics have argued that Islamic countries should be lending a helping hand to Palestinians, rather than shutting them out.

Abdullah emphasized that the humanitarian situation should be addressed within Gaza and the West Bank, not burdening neighboring countries.

Jordan has a policy of non-admittance for Gazan refugees due to concerns about demographic balance and instability.

Egypt is also cautious about the political and security risks of accepting Gazans.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed support for Israel’s right to self-defense, while U.S. President Joe Biden plans to visit Israel following the attacks.

This leads many people to question why Islamic nations are not allowing Gaza refugees to come.

Hamas terrorists initiated an unprovoked attack on Israel that killed over 1,300 people, including 30 Americans.

An estimated 150 people were taken hostage, including possibly 13 Americans who remain missing.

IDF Lieutenant Colonel Richard Hecht said the Hamas music festival massacre “is the largest number of Jews killed in one day since the Holocaust.”

The Jordanian king told reporters “this is a red line … no refugees to Jordan and also no refugees to Egypt.”

“This is a situation that has to be handled within Gaza and the West Bank. And you don’t have to carry this out on the shoulders of others.”

“The whole region is on the brink,” Abdullah said. “This new cycle of violence is leading us towards the abyss.”
