Ukraine Wants More Weapons

via MSNBC.

In anticipation of a series of Russian attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has pleaded to NATO allies for increased weaponry and air defense support.

“The winter air defense is a significant part of the answer to the question of when this war will end and whether it will end justly for Ukraine,” he said.

“We must win the winter battle against terror and we can win it,” he added. (Trending: Joe Biden’s 2024 Chances Are Officially Dead)

Affirming the commitment of the Western nations to stand by Ukraine for the duration needed, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin disclosed a $200 million defense package for Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Putin was “preparing once again to use winter as a weapon of war,” And, “We need to prevent that, with more advanced and increased capabilities for air defense, we can make a big difference.”

Despite providing $44 billion in support, American support for Ukraine is waning across both major political parties.

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Air Force General Charles Q. Brown aim to reassure NATO allies and Ukraine of continued U.S. support.

They face the challenge of demonstrating Washington’s commitment to Ukraine while addressing the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas militants. (Trending: Why Is Biden Giving Amnesty to 700,000 Migrants?)

Ukrainian President Zelenskiy makes comparisons between the Russian invasion and the Hamas attacks, emphasizing shared problems.

“Terrorists like Putin or like Hamas seek to hold free and democratic nations as hostages and they want power,” he said.

“(Russia) still has enough resources to incite conflicts and turn them into full-scale tragedies and this is happening in Sahel. And it can happen even more painfully in Israel and in the Middle East,” he added.
