Nearly 800 surveillance cameras that were installed to enforce London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s green agenda car tax have been stolen or damaged.

Mayor Khan extended the Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) to cover the entire greater area of London, applying fines and levies to thousands of workers for driving anywhere in the city, including suburban and semi-rural areas.

The charges are for vehicles that do not meet the climate standards set by the local Labour Party government.

“Where there are possible lines of enquiry, local investigators will follow up using a range of investigative approaches including CCTV trawls, witness searches and an assessment of forensic opportunities,” the capital’s police force said.
