A recent Politico Magazine/Ipsos survey has found that nearly one-third of Americans would not vote for former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election if convicted in the federal grand jury investigation related to the January 6 protest.

They argue that every indictment against him actually boosts his popularity in the GOP Primary.

Concerns arise within the GOP Primary, as there are signs of Trump’s support declining in key states like Iowa.
His absence from the first Fox News debate has also allowed other candidates, especially Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, to gain momentum.

Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy are also experiencing a surge in campaign contributions, improving their standings in the polls.
Regardless of the primary outcome, the Republican Party should carefully consider whether to nominate Trump, given his legal challenges and potential discoveries.
The party may need to explore alternative candidates for the 2024 presidential nominee.
