Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin pardoned the dad who protested against his daughter’s public school’s attempt to cover up her sexual assault.
Scott Smith was convicted of “disorderly conduct” in 2021 following his protest against the school board members over the way they handled his daughter’s assault.

“I spoke with Mr. Smith on Friday, and I had the privilege of telling Mr. Smith that I will pardon him, and we did that on Friday,” stated Youngkin.
“We righted a wrong. He should’ve never been prosecuted here. This was a dad standing up for his daughter.”
“His daughter had been sexually assaulted in the bathroom of a school, and no one was doing anything about it,” he added, claiming that the superintendent “covered it up.”
A biological male in a skirt allegedly sexually assaulted Smith’s daughter in the restroom of Stone Bridge High School.
“Mr. Smith did what any father would do, what any parent would do, which is stand up for their child,” Youngkin argued. “This was gross miscarriage of justice.”
The governor then stressed the need to ensure that parents have the ultimate say in their child’s schooling.
The Youngkin administration has been laying the hammer down on Virginia public schools who refuse to properly inform parents of their child showing any gender confusion in the school setting.
Toward the end of the conversation, Youngkin touched on some whispers that he might join the Republican presidential primary, but has made no official commitment.
