The 8 States That Will Decide The 2024 Election

Trump argues this is the 'most dangerous time in the history of our country' | via Fox News

The fate of the 2024 presidential race likely rests on just eight states, according to analysts. This includes Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Nevada, and New Hampshire.

In 2016, former President Donald Trump won key votes from Electoral College states, including Pennsylvania by 0.7 percentage points (44,292 votes), Wisconsin by 0.7 points (22,748 votes), and Michigan by 0.2 points (10,704 votes).

In 2020, President Joe Biden reportedly stitched together 44,000 votes in Georgia, Arizona, and Wisconsin. (Trending: FBI Caught Lying For Hunter Biden)

Beginning with Arizona, the state was once such a Republican stronghold from 1952 to 2016. Only one Democrat won electoral votes in its state’s history, which was President Bill Clinton in 1996. Democrats have been slowly taking over important roles.

In 2022, Democrats won the governorship and the attorney general and secretary of state offices. Trump will need to win these 11 electoral votes.

Georgia, which has 16 electoral votes, is another longtime Republican state. The last Democratic nominees to win the state were Bill Clinton in 1992 and Joe Biden in 2020. The margin of victory for Biden was just 11,779 votes out of nearly 5 million cast (49.47% to 49.24%).

Michigan has 15 electoral votes, New Hampshire has 4 electoral votes, and Nevada has 6 electoral votes. Nevada has voted Democrat in the last four presidential cycles. Trump lost Nevada in 2016 and 2020 by less than 3 percentage points.

North Carolina, which has 16 electoral votes, was won by former President Barack Obama in 2008. This is the first time that the state backed a Democrat since 1976. However, Obama lost NC in 2012 and Trump beat Hillary Clinton and Biden in the state in the next two presidential elections.

Pennsylvania has 19 electoral votes and has become Democratic stronghold for decades. In 2016, Trump became the first Republican to win the state since 1988. Biden won the state in 2020.

Finally, Wisconsin holds 10 electoral votes and Biden only beat Trump by less than 1 percentage point in 2020. Presidential hopefuls in the GOP will appear on the debate stage in Milwaukee in Aug. 23. It’s unclear whether Trump will not participate in the event. Some candidates have confirmed that they will appear at the debate, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The 2024 United States presidential election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The winner of this election is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 20, 2025.

The 2024 election is expected to be a closely contested race, with Biden and Trump the two leading contenders. Biden is facing a number of challenges in his bid for re-election, including high inflation, an illegal immigration crisis, rising crime rates, and serious allegations of political corruption involving an international bribery scheme with his son. The 2024 election is also expected to be a referendum on the Biden administration’s performance. Biden has been unable to improve the economy and unite the country, which means Trump is the clear favorite to win.

In addition to Biden and Trump, a number of other candidates have declared their candidacies for president in 2024. On the Republican side, these include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former Vice President Mike Pence, among others.
