Democratic Congresswoman Haley Stevens had a meltdown on the House floor on Friday, continuing past her allotted time and screaming over fellow Democratic members trying to silence her.

The chaotic scene was recorded and clips of her speech quickly went viral online, the Daily Caller reports.

“This is not a moment to provide the false comforts of times past,” Stevens started out in the clip, referencing comments made by President Trump and Dr. Anthony Fauci during a White House coronavirus presser.

“We are so proud of Americans who are sacrificing so much right now, our students gone from their beloved classrooms and classmates. We beam for our manufacturers who have no—” she continued before getting cut off by the presiding Speaker (a fellow Democrat).

“I request 30 more seconds because I rise before you adorning these…” Stevens countered, continuing in her remarks.

As the Daily Caller reports, House Majority Whip Steny Hoyer was attempting to yield more of his time to her but she repeatedly cut him off, raising her voice to do so.

She then began to scream into the microphone as the presiding Speaker, Democrats behind her, and Hoyer all continued to quiet her to maintain official order.

Hoyer ultimately was able to tell the Speaker he was willing to provide Stevens an additional 30 seconds of his time for her to speak.

“Sharing in the profession with those who have not come before you. Similar times of trying medical needs. Wars and flus past. You will see darkness,” she screamed. “You will be… and our society needs you to stand together at this time. Our country loves you.”

“To our doctors and our nurses, I wear these latex gloves—” she added, noting her pink latex gloves, before against getting cut off due to her again exceeding the allotted time.

The Daily Caller adds:

The chaos comes as the House is set to vote on the $2 trillion phase 3 package, passed by the Senate on Wednesday. The House is scheduled to vote on the legislation sometime Friday, as the disease continues to spread throughout the U.S.

Meanwhile, Democrats in Congress are already discussing a phase 4 coronavirus relief package.

Republican Party Rapid Response Director Steve Guest said in a series of tweets that “Stevens just had ANOTHER meltdown, this time on the floor of the House of Representatives.”
