Trump Issues Ominous Warning to Iran After Surprise Attack on U.S. Forces: ‘Going to Get a Beating’

President Donald Trump spoke to Fox News on Wednesday morning after U.S. forces intercepted an Iranian ballistic missile attack on American troops in Jordan. His language left little room for ambiguity. “We’re going to beat the fing s out of them,” he said. “We’ll be hitting them hard. They’re going to get a beating.”

Trump said American personnel had only minutes to react and successfully shot down the incoming missiles. He later watched video of the operation in which service members called out coordinates in real time as air defenses engaged the threats. No U.S. casualties or damage resulted from the strike.

The president also confirmed that overnight U.S.-Saudi strikes had targeted Iran-backed Shiite militias in Iraq in coordination with the Iraqi government. He described those groups as a “cancer on the world” and indicated additional warnings to Iranian proxies are under consideration.

The Iranian launch on Tuesday had ended a brief lull after the collapse of an earlier ceasefire. Trump’s remarks signaled that the pause may now be over. What form the promised response will take—and how far it will go—remains the central unanswered question.
