Suicide Bomber Detonates Vehicle Beside Pakistan Train

At least 23 people were killed and around 70 wounded after a suicide car bomber targeted a passenger train in Quetta, Balochistan province, on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

The explosives-laden vehicle detonated near the railway line as the train passed, overturning two carriages and sparking a fire.

The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a separatist militant group, claimed responsibility, stating the train was carrying security personnel and their families traveling for Eid holidays.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack as a “cowardly act of terrorism,” while Balochistan’s Chief Minister alleged the militants were backed by Indian proxies.
