New Details on Gypsy Rose’s Ex Found Dead

Ken Urker, the ex-fiancé of Gypsy Rose Blanchard and the father of their daughter Aurora, was found dead October 1, 2026, in his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on his 34th birthday.

Deputies with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office were called at 6:15 p.m. for a welfare check after he stopped answering his phone and would not come to the door. “Kenan Urker, 34, was found dead upon arrival. At this time, we are continuing the death investigation,” the office said.

Blanchard had texted him “Happy Birthday” around 2 p.m. and sent a voice note apologizing for a leaked photo of Aurora. She got no reply. Her brother, Dylan Blanchard, later went to the house. Anita Blanchard, Dylan’s wife, called for the welfare check. Dylan saw Urker through a window, lying on a bed and not moving.

Deputies found him on his back, cold to the touch, with his face and arms blue. A paper towel with what appeared to be blood was on his left arm. A syringe and a handgun were on the nightstand. In the bathroom, deputies found syringes, a spoon and a brown powdery substance.

Captain Brennan Matherne said detectives had not found evidence of foul play but had not ruled anything out. A 911 log described a caller saying Urker was “in a dark place,” had threatened suicide, owned a gun and had been drinking. The call was initially logged as a reported overdose.

An autopsy was done October 2 at the Jefferson Parish Forensic Center. The coroner said, “At this time, there is no definitive cause of death. The case remains pending completion of toxicology testing, and no further information regarding the cause of death will be available until those results are received and the investigation is complete.”

Blanchard said she believes he overdosed. “The belief is Ken overdosed because an unidentified substance was discovered where he died,” though she said she did not know what it was or whether it was intentional. She called him “an amazing father” who “will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase.”

She also blamed online abuse, saying he endured an “unimaginable level of public scrutiny” and “relentless cyberbullying,” and that “the cruelty directed toward him was something no human being should have to endure.” In May she had talked on the TMZ Podcast about possible wedding plans and called the relationship her “greatest love story.” His sister Autumn said Blanchard had “already tried to paint a fake narrative” about the relationship.
