🚨 POLL: Is Kanye right about the music industry and NBA?

Breitbart reported that Kanye West’s most recent outburst on social media includes calling the music industry and the NBA both a “modern slave ship”. In a series of posts on Twitter, the controversial musician, fashion designer and presidential candidate ripped Sony and Universal while declaring himself the “new Moses”.

Music executives, similar to professional sports executives, pay their talent millions but historically do not allow the athletes or musicians to freely market their music or name to their liking. Many artists have regretted record deals that limited their freedom in return for a much needed payday for a struggling musician or athlete.

Taylor Swift rebelled against her record company last year and promised to re-record all the music that she does not own in order to own it.

Kanye West is fighting a similar battle, although he is using a different strategy. West compared his struggles to what the marketing attacks that Nikola Tesla endured while being targeted by Thomas Edison.

“I need to see everybody’s contracts at Universal and Sony,” demanded West on Twitter. Adding: “I’m not gonna watch my people be enslaved. I’m putting my life on the line for my people. The music industry and the NBA are modern day slave ships. I’m the new Moses.”

West deleted a tweet where he promised not to produce new music until he obtained a new contract.

“I’m not putting no more music out till I’m done with my contract with Sony and Universal … On God … in Jesus name … come and get me,” the entertainer tweeted.

West sought support from Vivendi and posted a screenshot of his communication with a board member of Universal’s parent company. Thomas Edison is often accused of using superior marketing to suppress Tesla’s superior technology and West repeatedly places himself in the feud, comparing himself to the oppressed Tesla.

“Hey everyone we’re making progress,” West posted later in the day. “I’ll keep everyone updated on how this meeting with Vivendi goes… If Nikola Tesla had a Twitter the world would run off AC … Edison killed Tesla’s image to control the power LITERALLY… Tesla and I only mean well for the world.”

West posted another screenshot of what appeared to be text with a Sony executive where after being told that it would cost much more than $300 million to purchase his songs back, he posted to Twitter: “I’m not open to any form of business with Universal or Sony.”

West claimed that the results of his struggles will be positive for his offspring. “My kids gonna own my masters.” he promised his followers.
