“Forrest Gump” star Gary Sinise revealed he moved his family from California to Nashville, Tennessee, after stepping away from acting in 2019.

The 71-year-old actor cited California’s high property taxes and gas prices (nearly $3 more per gallon than Tennessee) as key factors.

He wanted to preserve his savings for his children rather than spend it in the high-cost state while focusing on family challenges, including his late son Mac’s cancer battle, his father’s death, and his mother’s health.

Sinise said he has no regrets prioritizing family.
