Retired Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill took to Twitter Thursday evening to drop a sobering truth for voters currently complaining about members of Congress: they voted for them.

O’Neill, the man who claims to have shot Osama Bin Laden, first quoted former Soviet Union Premier Nikita Khrushchev who predicted he could change American politics by “giving small doses of socialism.”

“We cannot expect Americans to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving small doses of socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have communism,” Khrushchev said in 1960.

“Keep in mind: A lot of you elected these morons,” O’Neill said in an initial tweet.

“Imagine if democrats actually worked for you,” he added in another tweet.

“Democrats tell you what you want to hear so THEY stay in power. Wake up,” he said in yet another.

O’Neill’s comments came with a Fox News article he posted about an Iraqi refugee running against Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.

“Dalia al-Aqidi is a Muslim Iraqi refugee,” Fox News reports, “who says she’s tired of hearing Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., play identity politics while using language she believes is ‘dividing’ America.”

According to the report, Al-Aqidi told Fox News, “She needs to be stopped.” Adding, “I truly believe that I’m strong enough to beat her at her own game.”

Al-Aqidi, who was a journalist for 31 years, said she is “loyal to the country that gave me a chance, gave me a brighter future,” noting her Democratic opposition “continually tries to weaken the country and divide us. Every time she opens her mouth she says something either anti-U.S. or anti-Semitic.”
