Jasmine Crockett Hit With Legal Bombshell

Rep. Jasmine Crockett is facing serious legal issues after allegedly breaking the law. She is accused of using a campaign-linked site to offer services while being a member of Congress.
While Crockett was still in the House, her merchandise website “The Clapback Collection” had a “Political Consultant– Book Now” button listing government relations and lobbying, campaign strategy, PR, digital work, and political risk management.

It appeared by May 2026, after she lost the Senate primary in March, and was removed after being asked about it.
Her office claims that she did not build the site or authorize the button, and that it was only for merchandise.
Her campaign merchandise site, “The Clapback Collection,” was found offering booking for political consulting and lobbying while she was still in Congress.
By May, about two months after she lost a Senate primary in March, the site carried a button labeled “Political Consultant- Book Now.” Clicking it listed campaign strategy and management, government relations and lobbying, communications and public relations, digital and social media work, and political risk management.

The listing, first reported by Zeteo, raised questions about congressional ethics rules and whether a sitting member can advertise lobbying services. Progressive commentator Ryan Grim wrote, “Not waiting until you leave congress to start lobbying is impressive.”
A Crockett spokesperson told Zeteo the site “is and has always been focused on selling campaign merchandise.”
The office added, “The Congresswoman has only advertised it for merchandise and did not build it. She never directed anyone to add the button you are inquiring about.”
The button was taken down after Zeteo contacted the office. No prosecutor, ethics body or outside complainant was named in the report as having filed a case.
The dispute is over what the page offered, not over a charge already filed. Advertising government-relations and lobbying work from a campaign site, while the member is still voting, is the conduct under scrutiny. Crockett’s office says she did not build the site and did not order the button.
This matters because House rules bar members from being paid for fiduciary work, including consulting and lobbying, and from letting a firm doing that work use their name.
Criminal statutes also restrict representing private clients before the federal government.
If campaign money paid for the site, using it to solicit private fees could be an illegal conversion of campaign funds to personal use.
The exposure depends on whether she controlled the listing and whether anyone was actually booked or paid.
An unauthorized button is an ethics and campaign-finance question. Real clients or fees would be a clearer House rules violation and could implicate the criminal representation statutes.
