For the first time since the assassination attempt against President Donald Trump, the shooter’s father, who own the gun, was seen in public.

Thomas Matthew Crooks’ father was spotted in their suburban Pittsburgh neighborhood. The AR-15 used in the attack was register to the father, Matthew Crooks.

Trump assassin’s father was pushing a full shopping cart in the carpark of a supermarket. Matthew Crooks said, “We just want to try to take care of ourselves right now.”

“We’re going to release a statement when our legal counsel advises us to do so – until then, we have no comment,” he said.

“We just want to try to take care of ourselves right now. Please, just give us our space.”

Crooks, a 20-year-old, opened fire at a rally for former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, resulting in one death and injuries to two others.

Crooks was shot by snipers after he grazed Trump’s ear, killing bystander Corey Comperatore.

The family of Thomas Matthew Crooks has been cooperating with the FBI as investigations focus on identifying a motive for his near assassination attempt at a Trump rally.

Before the incident, his parents reported him missing and expressed concerns for his welfare; it remains unclear if they were aware he had an AR-15 registered to his father.

Both of Crooks’ parents are licensed professional counselors. Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2020 and earned an associate’s degree in engineering in May, with plans to enroll at Robert Morris University and the University of Pittsburgh.
