It’s widely known that Kamala Harris achieved the lowest approval rating of all-time for any vice president in history in 2023. NBC found a shocking 49% of Americans disapprove of Harris’ job in the Biden administration. This worse than Dick Cheney, Al Gore, Joe Biden, Mike Pence, and every other VP in modern history.
Making matters worse, a slew of polls after Joe Biden’s exit from the race revealed that President Donald Trump holds a commanding lead against Harris. She has also struggled to earn the endorsement of numerous top Democrats, including Barack Obama. This lack of unity and enthusiasm speaks volumes.
A Harris and Forbes poll showed Trump with a staggering 10-point lead over Harris among 2,169 likely voters.
A Quinnipiac poll found that Trump leads Harris 45% to 41% among 1,257 registered voters surveyed in July. Among independents, Trump holds a commanding 14-point lead.
Even liberal-leaning outlets, such as Public Policy Polling, found that Harris is losing to Trump in four crucial battleground states.
Trump leads Harris by 6% in Pennsylvania, 8% in Arizona, 2% in Michigan, and 1% in Wisconsin.
Vice President Harris is viewed as a potential asset for energizing the Democratic base in the lead-up to the election, but recent polls suggest challenges ahead.
She trails Donald Trump by an average of 1.5% in national polls, a figure nearly matching Biden’s previous standing against Trump.
Harris’s low approval rating, recorded at 32%, and her inconsistent role within the administration complicate her campaign, as she lacks a clear record to promote.
Key endorsements, such as from Sen. Elizabeth Warren, highlight her accomplishments in consumer protection and abortion rights, positioning her as a candidate capable of uniting the party and challenging Trump directly in the election.
