Elon Musk plans to donate about $45 million per month to a super PAC supporting former President Trump.
“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk wrote on X. “Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt.”
The PAC, called America PAC, was formed with Musk’s friends’ financial assistance, including figures like Joe Lonsdale, the Winklevoss twins, and Kelly Craft and her husband.
The America PAC, which has already invested over $6.6 million to support Trump’s campaign, is dedicated to voter registration and encouraging early voting and mail-in ballot requests, particularly in swing states.
Their aim is to counteract the Democratic party’s voter mobilization initiatives and grassroots activities in the run-up to the November election.
Elon Musk, currently the wealthiest person globally with a fortune exceeding $250 billion, intends to donate $45 million monthly to a super PAC leading up to the election.
The America PAC, which received $8.75 million in contributions, saw Musk hint at starting his donations soon.
Additionally, the great-grandson of banker Thomas Mellon made a significant $50 million contribution to a pro-Trump super PAC, marking one of the largest donations in the 2024 election cycle.
Elon Musk, after initially stating he wouldn’t donate to the Trump or Biden campaigns in March, now supports the former president, endorsing him openly post an assassination attempt during a Pennsylvania rally.
Recent reports suggest Musk and Trump have been communicating more frequently and have developed a friendly relationship, with Trump being informed about Musk’s involvement in a project to combat voter fraud.
Elon Musk has shown a preference for Trump over Biden, frequently criticizing the current president while showing support for the former president.
Musk donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe page established by Trump to aid the victims and families affected by a recent shooting incident at a rally, where one attendee was killed while protecting his family, and two others were injured.
