Jack Black and Kyle Gass from Tenacious D faced backlash after Gass made a joke about not missing Trump during a birthday wish, following an assassination attempt on the former president.
The comment was poorly received, leading to criticism and calls for deportation by an Australian senator, with public disappointment expressed by various individuals, including Elon Musk.
“I used to love Tenacious D and thought Jack Black was funny. None of them or their music/movies will ever be played in our home again. Ever. Sickening. Not funny and done in a foreign country is even worse,” conservative Chris Loesch wrote.
A month ago most folks who were aware of @jackblack thought he was a funny dude. Thanks to his TDS & bizarro Biden promotion he’s now disliked by at least half the population & has just cancelled his band’s tour. Gervais did try to warn these clowns to stop the vacuous activism. pic.twitter.com/v8gCyoZlE3

Black distanced himself from the incident, expressing surprise and emphasizing his disapproval of hate speech and political violence.
“I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form,” Jack Black wrote.
The backlash prompted the group to halt their tour, with Black thanking fans for their support.
