President Joe Biden called for Congress to ban AR-15s and similar rifles following an assassination attempt on Donald Trump where an AR-15 was used.
Biden emphasized the need to address gun violence, stating that more children die from gunshot wounds than any other cause.
“If you’re going to speak about violence, you’re going to speak about guns,” Biden said.
He added, “An AR-15 was used in shooting Donald Trump, this was the ‘assault weapon’ that killed so many others, including children. It’s time to outlaw them. I did it once and I will do it again.”
“More children in America die of gunshot wounds than any other reason,” the President falsely claimed.
