Dr. Anthony Fauci, known for his leadership role during the COVID-19 pandemic response, appeared on “The View” criticizing former President Donald Trump and addressing his own critics.
Fauci shared a particular Latin phrase with the co-hosts, directed largely at Trump supporters.
“Don’t let the [expletives] wear you down,” he said.
The conversation touched on Trump’s handling of the pandemic, with Fauci defending his actions against Trump’s allies’ claims of bias.
The co-hosts highlighted disagreements with Trump’s policies but unsurprisingly failed to delve into criticisms regarding the impact of Fauci’s recommendations.
“We remember those pandemic briefings,” co-host Sunny Hostin said. “I remember the injection of bleach perhaps, hydroxychloroquin, dangerous recommendations. You were particularly disturbed, I read, by his refusal to wear a mask.”
Fauci expressed frustration at the politicization of public health, emphasizing the importance of following expert guidance amidst political disputes.
