Riley Gaines Says Biden Has ‘Abolished Title IX’; Breaks Down What This Means For Women

via FOX

A former collegiate swimmer criticized Biden’s revision of Title IX, arguing it abolishes protections for women and girls in sports and education.

The changes define sex discrimination as including gender identity, allowing biological males to compete against females and access women’s bathrooms and locker rooms.

Advocates said this endangers women’s sports and overrides sex-separated facilities.

“The Biden Admin has just officially abolished Title IX as we knew it,” Gaines wrote. “Now, sex = gender identity.”

“In a nutshell, the new rewrite means, men can take academic AND athletic scholarships from women,” she added. “Men will have FULL access to bathrooms, locker rooms, etc. Men could be housed in dorm rooms with women.”

“Students and faculty MUST compel their speech by requiring the use of preferred pronouns,” Gaines said. “If the guidelines above are ignored or even questioned, then YOU can be charged with harassment.”

They claimed students and faculty could face punishment for refusing to use preferred pronouns.

Parents’ groups and former education officials blasted the move as sacrificing free speech, due process, and parents’ rights to placate political extremists.

Critics argued the changes eliminated long-standing legal definitions and protections for women and eroded students’ and teachers’ rights.

“Under the new rule, girls and women will no longer have any sex-separated bathrooms, locker rooms, housing accommodations, or other educational programs. Women’s sports are likely endangered, too,” said Sarah Parshall Perry, former Senior Counsel at the U.S. Department of Education.

“Any education institution, including many private schools that receive even nominal federal funding, will be affected by this rule,” she added. “The rule also erases other important protections, like due process protections for students accused of sexual misconduct, free speech protections for students and teachers who don’t want to use ‘preferred pronouns,’ and parents’ right to know if their child is in the process of a gender identity ‘social transition’ at school.”
