Two juveniles have been charged with crimes connected to the mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl rally.

The gun fire occurred as a result of a dispute between several people.

The defendants are age 17. In serious crimes such as murder, juveniles as young as 12 can be certified for trial as adults.

It’s speculated that the incident is gang related, but police have released very few details. Authorities confirmed the violence is not terrorist related.

“The two juveniles are currently being held in custody while we work with juvenile prosecutors to review investigative findings and determine applicable charges,” police said in a statement. “The juvenile court system determines the custody status of all juvenile arrests.”

The two individuals are being detained in the county’s Juvenile Detention Center on gun-related and resisting arrest charges.

Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.

Names of the accused are not released. No further information was released.
